The La Stampa daily presents an article by Stefano Rizzato on Facebook, the social network that is increasingly preferred by older users, along with an interview with Marina Minestrini, a teacher at IIS Francesco Saverio Nitti in Naples, one of the 30 schools participating in the Active Ageing and Solidarity Amongst Generations through Social Learning and Innovation  (ISIS), based on the Grandparents on the Internet model.

"At sixty, one has a lot to do, but especially learn social networks," says Marina Minestrini, one of the volunteer high school teachers who organize technology and Internet courses for over-sixties at the Fondazione Mondo Digitale in Rome. "Many of our students, want to learn more about Facebook. It provides them with a window on the world, far more than it is for a young student or a worker. That is why I advise older people to try it out or get help from a peer or younger person who uses it. It’s hard for them to resist the appeal of such a powerful tool."

The Average Age of Italians Active on the Network is on the rise. They communicate in a new way, one that is very similar to the old way.
