Job Digital Lab: report on the local event in Verona
More than forty entrepreneurs, freelancers, professionals, citizens and students took part in the meeting “JDL Talks: Ideas that do business” as part of the Job Digital Lab project promoted by Fondazione Mondo Digitale ETS and ING Italia. Yesterday's event, hosted by the Verona Chamber of Commerce and Punto Impresa Digitale, was particularly well attended by the audience. ‘This day has given continuity to a process that the Chamber of Commerce has been pursuing for years, with the aim of raising awareness of the importance of digital technology. We want to ensure that our businesses can jump on the artificial intelligence bandwagon to increase their competitiveness,’ said Michelangelo Dalla Riva, secretary general of the Verona Chamber of Commerce, in his opening remarks.
The first part of the afternoon featured Massimo Pascolo, Head of Business Banking Daily Banking & Savings at ING Italia, who presented the main findings of the “People Insight Lab” survey, conducted in collaboration with YouGov. The survey provided a snapshot of the challenges, motivations and moods of self-employed professionals in Italy. Autonomy is an increasingly conscious and reasoned choice compared to the past and, although 53% of those interviewed chose to register as VAT numbers for work reasons, the number of those who did so for greater freedom and autonomy in their professional lives is growing.
During his practical session, trainer Andrea Boscaro encouraged participants to express their doubts, explore solutions and present practical cases. There were many contributions on the topic addressed, “AI for business: tools and strategies for digital marketing”. These ranged from an e-commerce entrepreneur grappling with different image creation tools, to an advertising executive with years of experience who has seen his profession change very quickly, to the insights provided by a marketing student.
‘Artificial intelligence has fostered and continues to foster intergenerational dialogue within our organisation,’ said Giovanna Combatti, CEO of Niederdorf Italia srl, speaking about her company's decision to embrace AI. "Our team represents different generations, and it is interesting to see how each person sees the world differently and has different needs, even with regard to the prompts submitted to AI tools. This comparison allows us to share the discoveries that each of us has made in approaching the new tools."
