In collaboration with the Fondazione Mondo Digitale, the Prefecture of l’Aquila promomtes a lectio magistralis by Prof. Tullio De Mauro on European Language and Contemporary Society.
Tullio De Mauro is a distinguished and internationally renowned linguist. He is Professor Emeritus at the “La Sapienza” University of Rome. Prof. De Mauro has also served as Minister of Public Instruction, is the author of various articles on linguistics has authored a series of articles on linguistics and culture and is a member of the most important Italian and foreign cultural associations.
The event, which will be attended by 1000 students from the provincial secondary schools thanks to the collaboration with the local school department, will be held in Coppito (l’Aquila) on May 3, 2012, 10 am.
The event will be opened by l’Aquila Prefect Giovanna Maria Iurato and will be coordinated by FMD Director General Mirta Michilli.
The FMD is lead partner in Abruzzi for two projects financed by the European Fund for the Integration of Third Country Nationals, one of which is promoted by the Prefecture of Aquila. The projects were developed to provides answers to the needs of the new immigrants residing in the area (and the Marsica area) and promote actions in favour of the foreigners facing problems since the 2009 earthquake.
