Unisco – Network for Local Development won the 2009 edition of the Global Junior Challenge in the special category dedicated to Creativity and Social Innovation with EE-NET GAME (Educational Enterprise Network Game).

The motivation was the following: “Project EE-NET Game is a case of excellence featuring the collaboration of various cities to improve impoverished urban areas through cultural, social and sports animation managed by youth through Animation Points. The project involves young people aged 16 to 24 who live in impoverished urban areas in Bari, Foggia, Brindisi, Lecce and Taranto. In these cities, EE-NET Game creates jobs for disadvantaged people through the development of both traditional and ICT skills. The on-line Animation Point Network represents an essential value of this project.”

Nearly two years after the competition, what has happened to the Unisco activities? Has the chosen methodology been confirmed?
Alessio Neri has interviewed Massimo Avantaggiato, the Head of External Relations for Unisco. From environmental issues to enterprise development, “the DNA of Unisco is always to make the most of youth and their energy,” Avantaggiato explained.
