In synergy with Project Digital Futures promoted by Dell Technologies Italia, a pilot action began in November to attract youth to STEM through immersive and experiential training.
The activity involves six first-degree secondary school classes from six schools in on-line activities to experiment with coding and digital manufacturing. A mini docuseries will collect the experiences of the participants.
Prof. Maria Sorrentino from the Istituto comprensivo Boscotrecase IC1- SM Prisco in Naples, participated with her class in a Maker Lab held by Designer Matteo Viscogliosi.
“These are operative labs in which manual skills are essential, as they allow participants to apply the concepts that they learn. The skills they acquire include a wide range of STEAM, ranging from mathematical skills to technical, scientific and artistic skills,” explains the professor. “Moreover, it an inclusive and creative, inspirational lab.”
“We learned a lot of things that can come in handy in everyday life,” points out one of the students, Angelo. “I’d like to work in technology. It has always been my desire.”
