You are about to receive updates from Project ComeOn! (COMmunity projEcts for social innovatiON through intergenerational volunteering experiences), which promotes the active citizenship of young and old through intergenerational volunteering.
The pilot course on micro-design and social innovation has involved 5 countries, 93 students, 69 elders and 13 teachers. The intergenerational staff has worked together to identify and resolve real local problems in their community. Intergenerational exchange and peer-to-peer collaborative didactics are employed to face the challenges of active ageing and digital and social inclusion, while young men and women acquire life skills that are indispensible for life and work in the 21st century.
Newsletter issue 5 also includes a focus on the initiatives implemented in the various countries. In Italy, the protagonists are two secondary second-degree schools: Federico Caffè and Francesco D’Assisi with 30 students, 27 senior volunteers and 3 teachers.
