Thanks to the projects of the Fondazione Mondo Digitale, based on the intergenerational learning method and lifelong education, nearly 20,000 young men and women were able to acquire knowledge, competences and values that will help them access the working world. Over 4 editions, the Knowledge Volunteers Competition has received 537 candidatures. The last edition selected 62 excellent candidates nominated by schools, elderly centres and associations from 11 Italian regions: Calabria, Campania, Emilia Romagna, Lazio, Lombardy, Marche, Piedmont, Puglia, Sicilia, Tuscany and Veneto. 
 
Only the first placed received a prize, while second and third placed candidates received a certificate.
 
Best Junior Volunteer
   3rd Place: Lorenzo Palazzese (16) – Liceo Lorenzo Rocci di Fara in Sabina
   2nd Place: Elena Marafatto (14) - Istituto Comprensivo Antonio Gramsci, Casale Sul Sile (Treviso)

1st Place: 500-euro scholarship – Students of Classes IIA and IIB at the Istituto Comprensivo Rodari, Soveria Mannelli (Catanzaro). 
Motivation: “For the spirit of initiative, enthusiasm, adventure, teamwork, empathy, fun, learning and exchange. For having expressed, through the project, all the many aspects of the concept of life education.”

Motivation: for her ability to experiment with didactics, innovate, long-term vision, optimism, professional spirit, enthusiasm, seriousness and talent in involving all actors in the educational process, as well as knowing how to mediate and manage a project in such a perfect manner.

Riccardo Pasquarelli (80), President of the Primo Maggio Elderly Centre, Rome.
Motivation: for his profound understanding of the meaning of senior knowledge volunteer. He learned with humility from his young tutors, helping out the teachers and shared what he learned about computers with his peers. Then he turned into a whirlwind of energy and motivation, creating a network of intergenerational exchange and relations, transforming his elder centre into a meeting place and reference point for many young tutors.
