Bread and Internet in Forlimpopoli

The digital literacy courses for over sixties are beginning at the E. Rosetti School in Forlimpopoli in the Province of Forlì-Cesena. The Bread and Internet for Grandparents and Grandchildren Project (PINN) has students, coordinated by technology teachers, instructing the elderly, who once a week are back in school to learn how to use a PC, e-mail and new communication technology.

Cecilia Stajano has recorded a statement by Headmaster Liliana Marchi, who after having activated two Pane e Internet (Bread and Internet) courses is enthusiastic about the new PINN formula, too.

Enrico Maredi is one of the over sixty students and a former administrator of the E. Rosetti School, where he worked for ten years. He is now attending the course in Forlimpopoli with Francesco and Adrian, two twelve year old tutors. “Schools should be open ten, not five, hours a day to provide services to the entire community," Enrico explains. "We are happy to be back in school, because schooling must become the main cultural hub.”
