In the AgriSmartLab space with viewers for immersive experiences

The Agriculture Is event, hosted in the Masaf Village in Piazza della Repubblica, ends today. For three days, in the AgriSmartLab space, we have involved adults and children in original and immersive learning sessions, created together with the Italian Farmers' Confederation (CIA) and the technological partner xFarm Technologies, a point of reference in the agritech landscape.
Thanks to the Meta Quest viewers, visitors were able to have a direct experience with the land and its fruits, exploring the agriculture of the future through the virtual reality Farming Simulator [see the news item Virtual reality in agriculture].

‘There were many visitors to our corner dedicated to the agricultural metaverse: from school students to representatives of local and national institutions, including the mayor Roberto Gualtieri and the minister Francesco Lollobrigida. It was a great honour, together with CIA, to bring digital skills to Agriculture Is, contributing to the debate on fundamental issues such as environmental sustainability, quality of life and the promotion of Made in Italy’, says Elisa Amorelli, head of communication and social marketing at the Fondazione Mondo Digitale.

‘It was an event that brought together different generations and worlds, to rediscover and experience the authenticity of Italian agriculture. With workshops, institutional meetings, discussions and tastings, Agricoltura È transformed the centre of Rome into a living village, an expression of our tradition and typicality’, adds project officer Debora Cavallo.

‘We deal with well-being and quality of life in all its forms, also through digital tools. The metaverse applied to agriculture can become a driver for economic growth and help our companies make themselves known throughout the world. A reflection that today takes on an even stronger symbolic value, on the anniversary of the Treaties of Rome of 25 March 1957, including the one that established the European Economic Community’, concludes Elisa Amorelli.
