These are just a few of the activities underway at Itis Hertz in Rome, one of the schools involved in Project Digital Bridge, a technological bridge with Cameroon, the operative plan for digital and social inclusion in favour of the schools in the Region of Lebialem, Municipality of Menji, in Cameroon. The project is financed by the Lazio Region, coordinated by the Fondazione Mondo Digitale and locally implemented by Scuole in Rete di Roma (SIR) and the Lebialem Association for Twining of Schools (LATS).
On Monday, May 31 at 11.00 am, the school will host a videoconference with the students of Fontem (Cameroon) to discuss solar energy and its applications. Professors Antonio Bonanni and Bruno Coletta have created a class of ten young innovators with a vast expertise in photo-voltaic systems: from the operation and production of cells to project design. All didactic materials will be translated into English for the students in Cameroon and presented during the course of the videoconference.
The project on “Solar Energy and its Applications in Photo-Voltaic Plants” was selected as one of the most interesting projects by the jury assigning the “School Innovation” award of the Forum PA 2010. The award was presented together with a medal from the President of the Republic. Eight hundred and twenty htree schools from all around Italy participated in the competition.
