Students from the Rome Istituto comprensivo Milanesi and their Science professor had the opportunity to attend a lesson held by Matteo Cattadori, the creator of Project Smilla.

These students had already participated in the “Antarctic: climate locomotive and archive” seminar held at Arpa Lazio on Nov. 11th.

Project Smilla, as Prof. Cattadori explains, is the first didactic programme taking place in real time from the Antarctic. Over a period of two years, Project Smilla has involved over 2200 students from 18 Italian  provinces and 100 teachers from all over Italy.

The audience includes teachers from the following schools: Istituto comprensivo Uruguay, the Liceo classico of Anzio and the Scuola Santoro.

“I find the subject matter very interesting. I have learnt things that I did not know and I will now be able to introduce the subject of climate change to my students,” says Patrizia Bongiovanni, a science teacher at the Istituto Uruguay.

The next appointment is scheduled for November 26th and will focus on energy and renewable energy sources. It will be held by Igeam and Ingv.

Studying is Sustainable is an environmental education programme for schools promoted by the Fondazione Mondo Digitale and the Fondazione Eni Enrico Mattei.
