Basic course on Instagram and Canva for Masci regional representatives
Like a cool breeze sweeping away the clouds, the ‘Libeccio 2’ seminar brought a breath of fresh air to the communication world of the Italian Catholic Adult Scout Movement (Masci). Last Sunday, 19 January, the regional referents, gathered at the Casa Tra Noi Hotel, sailed with full sails in the sea of new technologies, acquiring fundamental skills to make the movement better known.
The name ‘Libeccio 2’, chosen not by chance, evokes the strength and renewal that characterise this new phase of Masci communication, guided by the will to reach new goals, explained President Massimiliano Costa.
‘With the hope of walking and sailing in the sea of knowledge,’ the meeting was a complete immersion in the world of graphics and social media. Guided by trainer Domenica Cesena, participants learnt how to create visually appealing content and make the most of the potential of platforms such as Canva.
‘It was like discovering a new world.’ “Thanks to this course, I can now create truly professional posts and images for our social channels,” commented the participants.
The aim of the training was clear: to provide adult scouts with the necessary tools to effectively communicate the life of the movement and reach an ever-wider audience. And the results were not long in coming. Actively collaborating during the practical exercises, the participants produced graphics with great visual impact, demonstrating quick learning and great creativity.
The seminar ended with the awarding of certificates and great satisfaction on the part of all participants. ‘We go home with a new merit badge, the training one,’ joked one of the scouts, emphasising the importance of this path of personal and professional growth.
This event represents an important step forward for Masci, which is increasingly attentive to developments in the digital world and determined to communicate its values effectively.

We adult scouts are grateful to the Fondazione Mondo Digitale for these two modules (Canva and Instagram), presented during our Libeccio 2 communication seminar in Rome: the Foundation tailor-made a course for us in Masci, which brought together here in Rome those in charge of communication from all the regions of Italy where our Movement operates. Digital skills are today a challenge for adulthood and that is why in a reality like ours, which is based on values such aslifelong learning and intergenerationality, we wanted to bet on these issues, looking for a competent and safe guide: Cecilia Stajano and Domenica Cesena catapulted us onto the most modern communication platforms. For us it was a nice game to play, but above all a tool to tell our values, those of scouting, which are for life.
