As part of the Meet No Neet Programme, the students at IIS Pacinotti in Pontedera (Province of Pisa), have developed a social innovation project, created the Milva Association and presented the project to companies during the pitch organized by the Discovering Talents Fair (Peschiera Borromeo, 5 Feb. 2015). They have also kicked off a crowdfunding campaign on Phyrtual.org.

This is the first pitch in which the students presented Project Milva to companies at the Discovering Talents Fair (Peschiera Borromeo, 5 Feb. 2015). In particular, it was an elevator pitch, a special type of communication based on synthesis and efficiency that lasts as long as an elevator trip.

The Project
“MILVA” is an acronym that unites four key aspects (in Italian): trade, education, work and added values (Mestieri – Istruzione – Lavoro – Valori Aggiunti).
It is a double-track social innovation project, as the students have defined it, because its objective is to promote the matching of supply and demand through a web platform that can evaluate and manage the skills of its users. Thanks to this project, the association is helping school alumni to find work.

The Crowdfunding Campaign
What is the objective of Milva? On Phyrtual, the promoters indicate two main objectives for their crowdfunding campaign:
  • Help graduating students to gather experience in their sector until they find a job, promote networking and promote their creations through technologically advanced channels
  • Support members with knowledge and skills in everyday life and allow them to quickly overcome personal issues...

The Event

The Discovering Talents Fair was the final event of the 2014 edition of Project Meet No Neet, which involved 10,000 young men and women aged 16-24 from all over Italy. Technological, social and entrepreneurial training allows youth easier access to the working world and equips them with the competences that are necessary to live and work in the 21st century. The project is promoted by the Fondazione Mondo Digitale and Microsoft as part of the global YouthSpark Programme.
