"ENEA pays particular attention to the education of young men and women and school-work projects. Young people are like sponges. It is easy for them to learn. And it is extremely important that they grow confident with the world of science and research."
In a phone interview with Fiammetta Castagnini, Giuseppe Mazzitelli, Head of the ENEA Nuclear Fusion Technology Division in Frascati, explains his personal commitment and that of the agency to educate the young.
At RomeCup 2018, the National Agency for New Technology, Energy and Sustainable Economic Development (ENEA) will work to interest young students of all ages, starting from primary school, in science.
The agency will hold six labs for schools:
•Optics, Lasers and Photonics
•Discovering Electromagnetism
•Superconductivity
•Plasma Room
•Science and False Science
•Nuclear Fusion and Electromagnetism
In the audio clip, Giuseppe Mazzitelli explains why ENEA decided to back the RomeCup and gives us a preview of some of the prototypes that will be displayed in the showcase area. The ENEA stand, in fact, will host devices for controlling nuclear fusion and prototypes used to study superconductivity. International nuclear fusion experiment experts will be on hand to answer questions. Moreover, there will also be studies on photonics and a plasma room. The Frascati Research Centre Team will be present on April 16 and 17 with dedicated labs for all school types.
