How does one transform a school project that practically started as an exercise into a social innovation project that is financed by a crowdfunding campaign? The Voice Over Blog has published the story of the Liceo C. G. Argan in Rome that developed two social innovation projects - Corte Argan and Message in a Bottle – for Programme Meet No Neet and launched two crowdfunding campaigns on Phyrtual.
"We started by producing a little pot, then a clothes hangar. Finally, we devised an armchair prototype with the aim of producing five or six more. At the beginning, everyone was stupefied, but this quickly turned into appreciation,” recounts Design Prof. Antonio Buldini, explaining how Project “Message in a Bottle” explained to the Corriere della Sera reporter.
Giorgia Conti (17), who attends the Design for Architecture Programme, is one of the testimonials for the "My Future? #itsuptome" Campaign launched by the Fondazione Mondo Digitale to support social innovation projects developed by schools.
"Our project brings together technology and design. We learned to use a very sophisticated development application and work together as a team to brainstorm and research. Now, we would like to create a start-up!”
