The RomeCup 2014 featured a laboratory entitled “Robot Beginner Kit” dedicated to high school students. As a matter of fact, three experiences in one laboratory: Arduino, Raspberry and 3D.
Now, the team of IT consultants from Robot Domestici will host a free workshop at the Phyrtual Innovation Gym of the Rome Città Educativa (Via del Quadraro 102). The workshop - Robot in Kit – is an intensive 3-4 hour introduction to two robotics kits.
The laboratory will be held next Saturday, May 10, at 4 pm. Entrance is free, but you need to register with fablabroma@innovationgym.org
The first part of the lab will address the Agol 1.1 Robot. This is a kit that allows students to experiment with the main function of robotics. The system is based on an Arduino chipset that controls servo-motors, motor-reducers, IR sensors and flection sensors.
The kit includes:
• 1 chassis
• 4 servo-motors
• 1 Arduino Uno Chipset
• 1 PCB Proto Shield
• 1 set of distance controllers
• 1 motor driver
• 1 IR receiver
• 1 set strip
• 4 motors
• 1 battery (lipo 7.4v - 2200 ma)
Then, the presentation will turn to the 4WPI “explorer” Robot nicknamed because of its webcam that allows it to monitor the environment in which it operates. It is controlled by a Raspberry Pi B (512 MB Ram) chipset that receives input via wifi directly from a Server Apache. Thanks to its four motorized wheels it functions on all types of terrains.
The kit includes:
• 1 Miniature WiFi (802.11b/g/n)
• 1 Raspberry Pi - B 512Mb
• 1 Dagu 4WD Magician Chassis
• 1 10 sets M3 * 20 nylon standoffs
• 1 Motor Driver 1A Dual TB6612FNG
• 1 DC-DC Power Module 25W
• 1 Polymer Lithium Ion Battery – 2200mAh 7.4v
• 1 Webcam
• 1 SD card with operative system and control programme controllo
• Cables and jumpers
