The free Computer Science First Platform promotes the development of computational thought and soft skills in a fun and exciting manner. It allows core curricula to be integrated with more efficient methodologies to teach and learn new languages, and not just to code, in primary and first-degree secondary school. How?

This week, two sessions will be held by special teachers: a research technologist and a musician. Maura Sandri and Elisabetta Nanni will show their colleagues how to develop selfies amongst the stars and sound landscapes ...

  How to Produce an Astro-documentary

March 7, 17-18.30

For Primary School Teachers

Here are the ingredients for a good astro-documentary: the fun and intuitive CS First Platform, visual coding, and Nasa-selfies. Primary school teachers will learn about the “recipe” to produce short reports from space with their students, while they learn to programme and work with multimedia.

Coach Maura Sandri is a technologist and journalist at the Bologna Observatory of Astrophysics and Space Science [see interview: Coding Superpowers].

  Music and Coding

March 9, 17-18.30

For Primary and First-degree Secondary School Teachers

Narrating is a creative activity that allows us to be protagonists, the main actors. Music contributes to augmenting our stories and making an environment even more immersive. How can we create sound landscapes using coding and promote creativity in learning processes? Thanks to Digital Storytelling and the CS First Platform, we can.
Coach Elisabetta Nanni is a harpsichordist and Professor of Music in the Province of Trento.
