Today, Bari will host its first lesson at IIS Modesto Panetti, managed by Headmaster Eleonora Matteo. In the classroom the tutors and elders will be coordinated by Prof Patrizia Sannicandro. Cecilia Stajano (FMD School Innovation Manager) will greet students on behalf of the Fondazione Mondo Digitale, which manages the project throughout Italy.
In Campobasso, the IIS G. Marconi computer lab will welcome the elders and tutors with Principal Adelaide Villa and coordinating teacher Annalisa Gaddi.
In Turin, the elder students will meet at IIS Pininfarina, managed by Headmaster Stefano Fava. Didactic activities will be coordinated by Prof Stefano Mercurio.
In all the schools, the lessons will be held by student-tutors – one for each elder - coordinated by a professor. The students will provide their elder counterparts with the skills necessary to gainfully use new technology. This digital literacy programmes underlines the commitment of Poste Italiane and the Fondazione Mondo Digitale to fight social and technological exclusion of over-sixty-five citizens.
