Training for Women

The Fondazione Mondo Digitale and the United States Embassy in Italy, in collaboration with Microsoft, will present the fifth edition of Coding Girls, the programme created to overcome the gender divide in technological fields and promote female careers in the digital economy.

There are more than 100 Coding Girls in the high schools that will entice and train 6000 peers to coding with the guidance of Emily Thomforde, the American coach and artificial intelligence expert. From November 6 to 20, a travelling training relay will interest 28 schools in 7 Italian cities: Turin, Milan, Trieste, Rome, Naples, Salerno and Catania.

In 2018, the Fondazione Mondo Digitale has launched a new collaboration with the largest Italian universities to provide university and professional orientation in the STEAM Sector to over 10,000 young women. Moreover, an Italian association to promote female talent was created with Coding Girls. Today, it has over 25 hubs operating in schools throughout Italy.
