The Prodigy project in Palermo. The story of tutor Veronica
Supporting young people in the transition from school to training and work is a challenge that is faced every day in Palermo's neighbourhoods and community centres. This is precisely why the Prodigy workshop, held at the Cantieri Culturali alla Zisa on 27 November, played a special role: it was an opportunity for direct listening, discussion and shared construction around the needs of young people and the opportunities that the area can offer [see the news item Prodigy in Palermo].
Veronica Chisari, a vocational training project tutor in Palermo who works daily with young people seeking guidance and new skills, tells us about the meeting.
‘Free training courses that combine digital knowledge, guidance and meetings with local companies, such as those provided by the Prodigy project, allow young people to enhance their skills, develop marketable skills and create meaningful professional relationships,’ explains Veronica Chisari, tutor of the Prodigy project in Palermo. " At the same time, it is a concrete opportunity for companies to meet new talent and generate networking, collaboration and shared growth.‘
’These courses also promote the reintegration of young people who are not in education or employment, promoting inclusion and the development of increasingly sought-after digital and green skills,‘ adds Veronica. ’For many young people, they really represent an opportunity to contribute to the development of the local area and build their own future."
The Prodigy course calendar
Registration is now open for the free training courses, which will continue until May 2026. The courses are delivered in a blended format and include basic, intermediate and advanced levels.
- Basic digital skills: 5, 10, 12, 24, 26 November 2025
- Advanced digital skills: 1, 4, 8, 11, 15, 18, 22 December 2025
- Data Analyst: basic modules (Nov–Dec 2025), intermediate (Jan 2026), advanced (Jan 2026)
- Green skills in the new job market: 29 January, 5 and 12 February 2026
- Social Media Marketer: February–April 2026
- Sustainability Manager: February–April 2026
- Web Designer: March–May 2026
