The third Phyrtual Innovation Gym created on the basis of the Phyrtual Innovation Gym has been opened in Teramo (Abruzzi) at the Centro Giovani Kairòs. It is called “Picias,” an acronym that in Italian stands for “Gym for Innovation, Creativity, Enterprise, Craftsmanship and Social Activities.”
Created by an association, which is also called Kairos, the centre aims to “help youth develop their ideas and transform them into projects.” Now, starting in September, the centre will also be able to count on a small Innovation Gym, developed thanks to the support of the Fondazione Tercas.
The “Picias” Phyrtual Innovation Gym includes a range of areas, including a digital manufacturing lab and a demo and showcase area for technology for independence of differently able individuals at home and at work.
“We want our youngsters aged 5 to 90 to use a new way of thinking that will help them improve their daily lives,” explains Prof Almerindo Capuani from the Kairos Association in an interview with Cecilia Stajano. “We tried to copy the Fondazione Mondo Digitale,” explains Prof Capuani. However, “Picias” is custom-tailored to local needs and fully represents the philosophy of the Network of Phyrtual Innovation Gyms and its “configurable, evolutionary, inclusive and grassroots” nodes.
