Technology at the Library

"Libraries have always collected the best of technology, in every age,” pointed out Paolo Fallai, President of Biblioteche di Roma, the Rome Library System, at the inauguration of Bibliomakers. This is the first maker space in a library in Rome and it helps us to change our perception of libraries as a “place of conservation” [see news: BiblioMakers Inaugurated].

“A papyrus and a laser printer do not serve different purposes. They both help us access knowledge. And our task is to guarantee free access to knowledge to everyone, so that no one stays behind.”

Project Bibliomakers is promoted by the Goethe-Institut in collaboration with “Biblioteche Di Roma.” The initiative is organised by the Fondazione Mondo Digitale.
