All the young men and women who have already participated in labs at the Officina – New Jobs Workshop are receiving an unusual call by e-mail: become a digital artist!
During July and September, the Phyrtual Innovation Gym will host digital artists who use new technology for their creations. The artists will work together with Officina – New Jobs Workshop lab participants.
The final works will be exhibited in two international events promoted by the Fondazione Mondo Digitale: the Global Junior Challenge (Rome, October 2015) and the Media Art Festival (Rome, MAXXI, April 2016).
The artworks will be created in the Game Lab and in the Immersive Lab.
Participation Requisites
- Must have attended a course or lab at the Officina – New Jobs Workshop;
- Must have a basic knowledge of the main software used in the two labs;
- Must be creative, curious and passionate about both art and technology;
- Must be present throughout the development of the art work.
Two preliminary meetings will be held in July to plan activities and allow participants to meet. Work will begin in September with two meetings a week.
Participants may apply for one of the following projects, presented by the artists:
- Lino Strangis – “Ai confini dell'universo”
- Apotropia Duo (Antonella Mignone and Cristiano Panepuccia) – “Un'opera tra corpo e tecnologia”
Interested candidates should send a candidature video (no longer than one minute) by Monday, July 20 to f.meini@mondodigitale.org
The video must contain the following information:
- Name, last name, age and city of residence
- Lab attended
- Project selected (Ai confini dell'universo or Un'opera tra corpo e tecnologia)
- Technical and artistic skills
- Motivation to participate
The videos will be published on the Facebook page of the Officina – New Jobs Workshop and will be evaluated by the artists and coaches, who will select the 12 successful candidates who will be invited to participate in this new adventure.

I video vengono pubblicati anche sulla pagina Facebook dell'Officina dei Nuovi Lavori e sottoposti all’attenzione degli artisti e dei coach. Sono loro a selezionare i 12 ragazzi che li affiancano in questa nuova avventura.
