During the months of June, July and August, the Fondazione Mondo Digitale Phyrtual Innovation Gym will host a Summer School programme for all students who wish to learn more about new technology.
The activities will be held at the Officina-New Jobs Workshop (Officina dei Nuovi Lavori), a project run by Google and the Fondazione Mondo Digitale to promote digital skills and align education with 21st century challenges.
The Officina-New Jobs Workshop has four didactic areas:
- Fab Lab: digital manufacturing with 3D printers and laser cutters
- Immersive Lab: augmented reality and immersive storytelling using Oculus Rift and the CAVE platform
- Game Lab: game development and digital entertainment
- Video Lab: video-making with 3D and visual effects
Students can select one of two tracks, both of which last one week:
- ALL4ALL Track: participants attend all labs for one week (Mon-Fri) for a total of 22 hours (4 hours motivational course, 4 hours for each lab and 2 final re-evaluation hours). A new lab each day for a “immersive” track in the various technologies that are emerging on the digital market.
- ONE4ONE Track: participants attend one lab for one week (Mon-Fri) for a total of 22 hours (4 hours motivational course, 16 hours lab and 2 final re-evaluation hours).
All activities take place at the Rome Città Educativa (Via del Quadraro 102).
