Digi-Breaker Plus: the Policy Recommendations Booklet is now available.
In an era of rapid digitalisation and ageing populations across Europe, the failure to integrate digital tools into our daily practice poses a significant risk both to the unemployed and consultants. The green transition has the potential to develop greener economic activity in various sectors, involving both skilled and unskilled workers, provided they receive targeted training for reskilling and upskilling.
European project Digi-Breaker+ aims to bridge this gap, by providing innovative tools and methodologies to help unemployed adults acquire the skills necessary to re-access the working world.
The Policy Recommendations Booklet collects a set of recommendations to facilitate the transfer and upscaling of the DigiBreaker+ project results to organizations outside the consortium, including stakeholders and policy makers. To achieve these goals, the Policy Recommendation Booklet presents a comprehensive set European-level policies focusing on adult education, improving green and digital skills and supporting re-employment initiatives.
The document, which is the result of an in-depth analysis of the training needs of unemployed adults and existing policies in four European countries (Belgium, Bulgaria, Italy, and Sweden), offers a series of practical suggestions to improve the effectiveness of training and orientation programmes, such as:
- The importance of digital orientation
- The development of green skills
- Collaboration between public and private organisations
- The use of innovative tools
The main objectives of the pilot programme, in each country, were to improve digital literacy, introduce green skills for the workforce, actively engage participants, and validate the effectiveness of the educational tools used, the FMD Academy Course and the Good Practices Handbook. These tools are key components of the methodology and were tested and evaluated in four countries (Belgium, Bulgaria, Italy, and Sweden), involving both coaches and unemployed adults.
The Policy Recommendations Booklet provides an essential contribution to the debate on adult employment and training policies. Its recommendations offer concrete support to European countries committed to tackling long-term unemployment and promoting social inclusion. The Digi-Breaker+ project represents an innovative response to these challenges, combining an original approach and strong collaboration between partners. Thanks to this work, the booklet provides valuable tools and guidance to improve the training opportunities of unemployed adults and build a more inclusive future.
