Stitching the Suburbs

Project "Stitching the Suburbs" by IIS Maffeo Pantaleoni in Frascati (Rome), the school directed by Marilena Ciprani, has won the “Social Inclusion and Fighting Unease” Call ("Inclusione sociale e lotta al disagio").

As the professors indicate in the project proposal, the project “aims to create flexible local contexts, dynamic and related to everyday life, as well as to student education, that will promote the alliance between institutions and active local associations to develop a network of environments for growth and well-being, both at school and outside.” The school will use the project to contrast not only school drop-out rates, but also to actively promote student interest and involvement.

The school project includes a 30-hour course on storytelling, entitled "1 and 1000 Stories to Narrate," developed in collaboration with the Fondazione Mondo Digitale.

The digital storytelling course, which involves 40 students, kicks off tomorrow – March 16 – and will be held by Fiammetta Castagnini, a coach at the Phyrtual Innovation Gym. Extra-curricular activities will be organised by Professors Aniceto and Bredice, while the project is coordinated by Professor Serenella Berdini.
