The "States General" of Robotics

The "States General" of Robotics

Italy faces great economic, industrial, occupational, educational and social challenges (unemployment, school drop outs, low levels of high tech exports, etc.). However, robotics represents an area of technological, educational and industrial excellence with enormous and unique opportunities to face various challenges.

The objective of the protocol is to stimulate and promote a long-term process for the country by uniting all the relevant actors in Italian robotics: industry and service, university, research centres, school, services and local, regional and national governments. This synergic action will promote the organization of the many opportunities provided by robotics, from primary school to industry and the job market. This will allow students to be oriented towards scientific and technological careers. Simultaneously, robotics industry and services will be able to exploit and influence education, training and research to maximize the returns of technological and robotic tendencies and markets.

In particular, the memorandum of agreement aims to:
  • Formalize the interaction of government, industry, universities and the development of local areas and educational and training projects implemented by individual schools;
  • Promote the creation of an integrated system to develop knowledge and competencies of robotics via a system of local governance and planning of training, research and diffusion. The system involves all the main actors in the robotics sector, linking the world of research and production with schools;
  • Promote the development of training, research and diffusion integrated wit the creation of a shared project amongst all signatories, the coordination and sharing of resources and competences via web and the integration of training, educational and work opportunities available at the local level;
  • Promote the development of significant local aggregations with greater possibilities of accessing public funding, even at EU level, and promote the service provided by each organization thanks to the accessibility of all the shared resources.
