"It's a huge privilege to be a first-generation Martian!"

On Thursday, March 10 (5-6 pm) there will be an international role modelling session for the "My Future? It’s Up to Me!" Campaign. Thanks to our precious collaboration with the United States Embassy in Rome, Coding Girls will have the opportunity to meet Nagin Cox, an engineer at Nasa, who currently heads the tactical missions of the Curiosity and Perseverance Rovers on Mars.

Nagin Cox is a special woman. On her personal website she describes herself with three words: "an explorer, a defender, a volunteer". She is committed to civil battles for the rights of women and travels the world to explain how to transform dreams into reality. She is also a triathlon athlete, sings in a choir and likes dragon boating.

There is no better way to celebrate today’s recurrence of the International Day of Women, which is dedicated to Gender equality today for a sustainable tomorrow,  because without gender equality today, there will be no sustainable and fair future tomorrow.

The event will be streamed live on the Coding Girls Facebook page.

The session will be opened by Anthony Deaton, Consul for Press and Culture at the United States Consulate in Milan and Cecilia Stajano, Vice President of the Coding Girls Association.

Nagin Cox will be interviewed by three students:

  • Eugenia Eremita - Liceo scientifico Raffaele Capriglione in Santa Croce di Magliano (Campobasso)
  • Eleonora Rossetti - IIS Leonardo Da Vinci in Rome
  • Marta Della Zoppa - Liceo Scientifico Primo Levi in Milan
