“We deeply believe that technology should leave no one behind.” Sheryl Sandberg, Chief Operating Officer at Facebook, is in Italy for the first time, where she inaugurated the new area of Binario F, the Italian centre dedicated to the education and development of digital skills. Binario F is hosted by the LVenture Group and Luiss EnLabs Hub at the Rome “Termini” Railway Station. Ms. Sandberg outlined the organisation’s plans for expansion.

In her address, Sheryl Sandberg also underlined the crucial role of partners like the Fondazione Mondo Digitale that "collaborates on the SheMeansBusiness Campaign for women in enterprise and has already trained over 4500 women in Italy."

"We opened Binario F last year to provide a space where enterprise, family, academies and NGOs could come together to acquire digital skills. And we have great partners. [...] The Fondazione Mondo Digitale and Skuola.net trained everyone from students to elders.”

“We hope that the work of these organisations at Binario F and throughout Italy will help all Italians to fully exploit the potential of the Internet,” explained Ms. Sandberg. "Whether it’s about identifying a community, starting an on-line business or using technology to keep in touch with friends and family.”

Sheryl Sandberg was introduced by Laura Bononcini, Public Policy Director, Facebook.
