The first summer webinar for coordinating teachers involved in project Meet no Neet was held last Tuesday. Participants included 10 teachers from 7 schools in 5 regions.
The on-line workshop, which was held by Ana Lain and Valentina Gelsomini, addressed a variety of issues ranging from social planning tools to the IT Academy platform for the acquisition of certified digital skills.
School immediately set to work and two computer science teachers from the Liceo Scientifico “F. Buonarroti” in Pisa, Paola Pucci and Paola Pagliariccio, distributed an initial collaborative project draft involving five classes in the school.
“We would like our students to develop a modular type of project,” explain the teachers. “What do we mean by this? We would like to provide students studying other fields in our school and other schools, as well as other local users, with an open space: a series of open labs in which the students can volunteer their skills and provide a different type of education on issues such as robotics, artificial intelligence, video production and website graphics developed in HTML, CSS and JavaScript, for example. It will then be up to the students and/or classes to decide what to focus on, what to propose and how to present it.”
Today, at 10 am, the team of teachers will be back on-line to analyse and discuss project ideas and work tools for Meet no Neet, a project implemented in collaboration with Microsoft as part of its global YouthSpark Programme.
