Safety for Children On-line

Our virtual adventure amongst the schools participating in the special edition of Safer Internet Day, promoted by Microsoft and the Fondazione Mondo Digitale in collaboration with the Italian Postal Police, brings us to Corsico, in the Metropolitan Area of Milan.

 

At IIS Righi-Falcone, managed by Headmaster Maria Vittoria Amante, students in the International Relations for Marketing Programme in Class 4C are working on the issue of on-line paedophilia, under the guidance of Prof Paola Pupilli. The students have organized a press desk to raise awareness on the project and provide valuable information to families.

 

 

This year, in fact, the Safer Internet Day, is promoted throughout Italy with students as the true protagonists, even in communications. From North to South, school students coordinate d by the FMD, are working together on a Youth Manifesto for a Safer Internet. The students will present the manifesto to the school community and divulge it via the web.

The Safer Internet Day, promoted by the European Commission, has become a global event over the course of the years. It is now celebrated on February 9 in more than 70 countries around the world.
