Safe Crossings

As part of Project Meet no Neet, students at IIS Fermi-Mattei in Isernia presented Project Helpedgal at a pitch to companies at the Discovering Talents Fair (Peschiera Borromeo, February 5, 2015) and have now kicked off a crowdfunding campaign on Phyrtual.org

The Crowdfunding Campaign
"Our idea," explain the students, "is to create a company that will develop and deploy an intelligent system for saving the lives of pedestrians at road crossings.” Potential clients include public and private agencies, schools and hospitals that promote public safety, and urban safety in high-traffic areas.
The Project
Helpedgal brings together students from a number of schools to work on a special project. In particular, Electronics and Business students, who will learn about “non traditional” competences and put their creativity to use for this intelligent crossing system for pedestrians.
Helpedgal is based on computerised system that warns car drivers of the presence of pedestrians crossing the road with luminous signals. The system also includes a vocal alert for individuals with hearing deficits.
