“Roma Facile” at Ottavia

Today, at 10 am, the Centro Anziani Ottavia (Via Trionfale 11556) will inaugurate the new Punto Roma Facile Services Centre, as part of Project Going Digital. The over-65 members participated in a functional and digital literacy course at the Liceo Vittorio Gassman in Rome. From December 2018 to March 2019, 25 students in Classes IIIC and IVC acted as digital facilitators to show the elders how to use PCs, tablets and smartphones, from search engines to service provided by the public administration.

Rome’s XIV Municipio has activated four Going Digital Courses at the Enrico FermiVia Silvestri 301 (plesso Volta) and Vittorio Gassman (2 courses) Schools.

The Punto Roma Facile activities are managed by the elderly centre in collaboration with Rome’s Municipio XIV. The experimental service is provided to members who, on appointment, can request free help from the facilitators, operators and volunteers to improve their digital competences, every Thursday from 9 am to 1 pm.

The inauguration event will be moderated by Councillor Monica Ruffa (School, Transparency, Participation, Innovation, Personnel and Youth Policy). The Fondazione Mondo Digitale will be represented by Eleonora Curatola [@Eleonora_FMD] who helped Cecilia Stajano [@CStajano] coordinate Project Going Digital. There will also be a group of graduating students from the Gasmann School.

The centre at Ottavia is the second “Punto Roma Facile” that has been opened at elderly centres in Rome.
