Have you ever heard about swarm robotics? It’s a branch of robotics that studies intelligent organisations based on examples in the natural world, such as bees, birds and ants. What keeps them together?

 

Robotic rescue teams can be organized in the same way so they can coordinate and adapt to sudden changes, following the organization model of bees.

 

In this interview by Fiammetta Castagnini, Vito Trianni, a researche at the Istituto di Scienze e tecnologie della cognizione at the National Research Council (CNR) gives us a preview of what they will showcase at RomeCup 2016 – Excellence in Robotics in Rome from March 16 to 18.
