300 teams from 45 countries are participating, including Italian schools.
It’s the 27th edition of RoboCup, founded with the objective of sharing and accelerating developments in the field of Robotics. We are halfway to the final objective of RoboCup: fielding a team of independent humanoid robots to beat the world cup football champion team by 2050.
RoboCup, which will be held on July 17-21 in Eindhoven, includes17 competitions in 5 categories: RoboCupSoccer, RoboCupRescue, RoboCup@Home, RoboCupJunior, and RoboCup Industrial. It’s about robots that play football, carry out rescue missions, collaborate on logistics with human beings in commercial environments, and competitions in which 1000 young participants participate in challenges with self-built and programmed robots.
Amongst the youngest participants in RoboCupJunior, there also are the teams from Italian schools and the teams that have grown up at RomeCup in the football, rescue, and on-stage categories:
- Pacinotti Archimede with Prof. Paolo Torda
- Cobianchi di Verbania with Prof.Raimondo Sgrò
- Polo Tecnologico Manetti Porciatti in Grosseto with Prof. Daniele Dattrino
- Piazza della resistenza with Prof. Giampaolo Pucci
Unfortunately, the Archimede team from Catania, coordinated by Prof. Cristina Strano, that had won the European Championships in the on-stage category will not be present!
RoboCup 2024 is organised by the Eindhoven University of Technology in collaboration with the non-profit Promotech2050 Foundation.
