The programme of “Rome Future Week” (Sept. 11-17)
Rome’s future is closer thanks to Rome Future Week, September 11-17: 290 events in 200 different places throughout the city, organised collaboratively by organizations, public administrations, universities and companies.
Conceived by SCAI Communicazione and promoted by the Councillorship for Security, Productive Activities, and Equal Opportunities that has provided the Casa delle Tecnologie Emergenti as the headquarters of the initiative, Rome Future Week will observe the Eternal City , for the first time, with the eyes of the future, demonstrating that Rome has an invaluable past, but can also represent the future of our country.
The event was conceived and developed by bringing many brands together, a sign of the innovative and creative drive of Rome, the city with the most fibre connections in Italy. The multi-location initiative aims to be sustainable and focus on all the organisations that contributed to its organization.
The future of Rome is presented through four major themes:
- Growth
- Connections
- People
- Experience
The programme includes a hackathon to identify possible solutions on how to solve the lack of student housing, organised by GenQ. Refugee start-ups from around the world will meet in the Diversity Days organised by Startup Without Borders; Money Pay Day, will present a vertical look at the Fintech world; “Prestashop Connect” will bring together professionals “addicted” to the ecommerce multinational in various iconic areas, from the Colosseum to Saint Peter’s, animated with augmented reality thanks to Augmented Cities.
The event has been conceived to present Rome not only as a jewel of the past but also a candidate for the future of Italy. The Rome Council represented by Security, Productive Activities, and Equal Opportunities Councillor Monica Laurelli pointed out: "We are very happy to actively participate in the organisation of an event that promotes technological, social, and cultural innovation, connecting ideas and people. There will be over 290 events throughout the city over 7 days, reaching out to all residents. And the programme continues to grow richer every day. The Casa delle Tecnologie Emergenti will be the headquarters of the event on the future. The first edition has already received an enthusiastic welcome by all participating parties, institutional and not, because together we can change the narration about Rome, a place steeped in tradition and history that can become a driver for the development of the entire country.”
Rome Future Week® has its own dedicated anthem, created by musician Philip Abussi and an exceptional testimonial, Gian Marco D'Eusebi, influencer and skilled storyteller on the city of Rome according to whom “History is cyclical and, just like Rome created the foundations of the modern world two thousand years ago, RFW intends to pay homage to this city that has the human qualities to once again become "caput mundi" even in a century of technology and innovation.”
With a programme of events "nor more than 15 minutes away" that can be reached with our mobility partners Enjoy and Lime, how choose which best suits your needs? Playlists created by exceptional guides will be available on the event's dedicated website, where it will be possible to listen to a summary of each initiative with one-minute interviews conducted by Radio Activia, recommending itineraries for specific audiences.
The first edition of the event is based on the enthusiasm of the partners that accepted the challenge: citizens, associations, companies, institutions, universities, and various sponsors, like Banca Sella, Ci.Effe. Consulting, Santagostino, VedoMarket, Bat Italia, and Spendesk.
And Spenddesk, the French Fintech unicorn, is launching its solution in Italy during RFW. It is no coincidence, in fact, Rome is the Italian city with the highest growth rate in the number of businesses, thanks to the work of the Lazio Region on the digitalization of SMEs. “Spendesk embraces this vision,” explains Stéphane Baranzelli, VP Continental Europe, “and launches in Rome its innovative platform for digitalizing corporate expenses, already used by over 4,000 companies, including Decathlon, WeRoad, Pizzium and Codemotion.”
The "Future House" of Rome Future Week® will be the Casa delle tecnologie emergenti (CTE) at the Tiburtina Railway Station, headquarters of the event, where the rich programme will be presented, with an exceptional chairman, podcaster Mario Moroni.
The event is open to everyone throughout the day: from OpenGra breakfasts to night-time parties.
