After intensive training sessions in school throughout the city (ITE R.Piria-G.Ferraris-A.Da Empoli, LSS Da Vinci, LCS Campanella, IIS Righi, Convitto nazionale Campanella), 120 students, guided by American super coach Anthonette Peña, National Board Certified Teacher and STEM Teacher Lead, participated in a hackathon at the Mediterranean University in Reggio Calabria.
The Coding Girls, promoted by the Fondazione Mondo Digitale and the United States Embassy in Italy in collaboration with Microsoft Italy, aims to promote gender equality in science and technology. The sixth edition will be held on November 5-22 and will involve 10,000 young women in 14 Italian cities.
Here are the projects elected by the jury, including two special mentions. The focus of the 18-team hackathon was "Re-thinking Reggio Calabria".
