“He wrote a short story on his experience with elders, using the journey as a metaphor for the process of discovery, exchange and understanding.”
This is the motivation with which Giordano Ciucci, a seventeen year-old student at the Rome Liceo scientifico Francesco D'Assisi School received first prize as a Junior Volunteer.
Giordano is always extremely enthusiastic, even when describing himself. He loves the journey metaphor and his sentences run on and on, moving back and forth like waves, forming a future that he imagines very clearly. He imagines himself as an educator and developer, a dynamic and creative professor.
Giordano was interviewed by Rosy D’Elia at his school, where he is involved in Project “ComeON!” based on the Grandparents on the Internet intergenerational learning model, tutoring two elders, Paolo e Valentino, on computers and the Internet.
