Three city spaces reconstructed in a three-dimensional universe
“It’s not just a beautiful city, but also a cutting-edge reality in the use of new technology to promote tourism.” These are the words used by Roberta Tardani, the Mayor of Orvieto, in reference to an article on Il Messaggero to describe Project “Orvieto First City in the Metaverse” presented a few days ago as part of Programme Vagone Fmd. From 01 to 100 in the Metaverse.
The three-dimensional universe developed by Engineering Ingegneria, a multinational company specializing in digital transformation with offices in Orvieto, includes three virtual spaces: a tourist info-point, an Etruscan Museum, and the Orvieto Wine Consortium. Visitors can interact with objects ranging from Etruscan relics to bottles, obtaining information on the history of the city and the wine. Moreover, it allows a virtual immersive access to six city attractions: Duomo, Saint Patrick’s Well, Torre del Moro, National Archaeological Museum, “Crocifisso del Tufo” Necropolis and the Orvieto Underground.
