Pink Cloud in Naples

"Pink Cloud on Tour. Science and Technology for Ambitious Young Women” kicks off today. The event, which will be held on May 9-13, 2016 in Bari, Naples and Cagliari, will introduce over 1000 young Italian and foreign women (aged 17-24) to the many opportunities existing in the technological and digital sectors to overcome the gender gap in technological education [see press release].

Today and tomorrow, Pink Cloud will be in Naples with four appointments:

Alfonso Molina, Scientific Director of the Fondazione Mondo Digitale, will participate in the roundtable on "Brains in Movement" (9:30 – 11:00 am, Federico II University of Naples, Corso Vittorio Emanuele, 334b).

Ana Lain, Self-enterprise and New Jobs Coordinator, and Rosy D'Elia, Schools Manager, will be in Naples for the Fondazione Mondo Digitale to follow the students from 11 schools from the Campania Region.

Cinzia Cremona, artist and researcher, will participate in the International Conference on “Local Talents” as a witness of Italian creativity. Her works have been exhibited in Europe, the United States, Russia and Japan. Since 2013, she is a Research Fellow at Duncan of Jordanston College of Art and Design (University of Dundee). She is also a course leader at the Colchester Art School and a Professor of Contextual Practice at the Wimbledon College of Art (UAL). Moreover, she participated in the recent BNL Media Art Festival.

At the end of the event, young student Rosy Casolaro from IIS Nitti in Naples will interview Carlo Purassanta, CEO, Microsoft Italy.

My name is Rosy. I live in Naples and attend year five at a scientific lyceum. I turned 18, last month, so I’m a year ahead in school. I love reading and read just about anything to keep up to date, as well as studying, travelling and spending time with my friends. I would like to work as a manager and believe that technology is a fundamental tool for the future. I am enthusiastic about participating in Pink Cloud in Naples, as my professor has explained that it aims to “inspire young women to imagine a great tomorrow” and provide us with “knowledge, skills and the resources necessary to make our future real.” I will be there!
