After receiving an award at Microsoft headquarters in Milan last January, the students immediately started to work on implementing their social innovation project, developed as part of Project Meet no Neet. Project "Un'oasi di pace e di bellezza" (An Oasis of Peace) was developed by fifth year students at the Liceo C. Cavalleri in Parabiago to create an area in which citizens could experiment, appreciate and learn to love and take care of nature. In order to finance their efforts, the students launched a crowdfunding campaign on Phyrtual.org.

It’s not just a new park, it’s a green laboratory for sensorial immersion in art and beauty developed by the students at the Liceo Cavalleri, who reclaimed an abandoned area and restored it. The inauguration will take place tomorrow. The project placed second in the national Meet No Neet Programme, promoted by the Fondazione Mondo Digitale in collaboration with Microsoft, Roma Capitale and schools.
The new park, which was created with the support of the Banca di Credito Cooperativo di Busto Garolfo e Buguggiate, is an area dedicated to natural beauty. “If we begin appreciating the beauty of nature, of trees, flowers and rivers, we will learn not to damage them. Beauty can only be protected and preserved if we learn to see it and love it. Moreover, the perception of beauty improves our relationship with nature,” explain the students.
The area identified by the students to is that between via Benedetto Croce and via Unione in Parabiago. Here, the students have created two paths: the Soul Path and the Perfume Garden. The former is an open-air gallery with paintings depicting beauty and nature, while the latter is based on the presence of perfumed herbs and flowers. In September, the students will also add a special, fenced-off area for agility dogs.
