Next Week’s Appointments

For the third consecutive week, our protagonists are the Coding Girls and their educational tour touching in 14 cities throughout Italy [see news: Coding is Freedom]. After coding training in schools, the tour will be in Naples and Bari on Saturday, November 16. Michele Cerreto and Vincenzo Esposito will be at the Naples hackathon as part of the Microsoft Give Campaign.

Next week, the tour starts in Palermo (Monday 18) and then moves on to Reggio Calabria (Wednesday 20) and Rome (Friday 22). The Catania event, which was cancelled due to the weather alert [see tour programme], will be rescheduled.

Last week, Operation Digital Risorgimento kicked off in Marsala. This is the immense Mobile Internet School promoted by TIM and in which the Fondazione Mondo Digitale also collaborates [see news: Teachers and Facilitators]. The second appointment will be held at Piazza Garibaldi in the historical centre of Bagheria, where on November 18-22 (9:30 am to 7:00 pm), a range of digital education initiatives will be held.

 

The following projects will also hold activities next week:

Six AI Labs will be held next week: 4 at the Milan Microsoft House and 2 at the Brindisi Hub with Nicola Liuzzi (Wed. 20 and Fri. 22).

Three meetings at the Fab Lab (Monday, Tuesday and Thursday) for students at Piaget-Diaz with Matteo Viscogliosi [see news: Class Collection].

    Activities at the Phyrtual Innovation Gym in Bari. IC Grimaldi Lombardi will host the second Scratch Programming for year one primary school classes at the Coding Lab [see programme]
  • She Means Business

Double appointment with education for young women: Thursday afternoon in Vibo Valentia with Ortenzia Imbrogno [see agenda] and on Saturday morning at Binario F at the Rome Termini Railway Station [see agenda].

Binario F will host seven meetings, including courses and new labs, including "Tinkering Making Coding" which kicks off on Monday for Primary School teachers. Activities are based on the "Imagine Grow Develop" project lab (ICS Lab), developed with Erickson [see news: Tinkering Making Coding].

As usual, over the weekend, the digital manufacturing lab (Fab Lab) at the Phyrtual Innovation Gym is open to the maker community: Saturday-Sunday from 3:30 to 8:30 pm.
