New Resource for the ICS Lab

The first two volumes of the Immaginare Crescere Sviluppare (Imagine Grow Develop) project-lab were published last autumn [see news: Tinkering Coding Making]. Now, a theory manual is also available on-line at: eventi.erickson.it/icslab/UnitaDidattica/teoria

The volume, written by Ilaria Gaudiello, Researcher and Pedagogic Innovation Expert, and Prof.  Alfonso Molina, Scientific Director of the Fondazione Mondo Digitale and Personal Chair in Technology Strategy at the University of Edinburgh (where he taught for over twenty years), explores the theoretical bases and pedagogical models connected to tinkering, coding and making.

The ICS Series, developed with the Centro Studi Erickson, was conceived at the Phyrtual Innovation Gym to encode some of the activities invented and tested together with teachers, makers, computer scientists, artists and students who participate in the ongoing cycle of conception and development.

The development of educational content, in the form of projects, initiatives, booklets and didactic worksheets, is witness to the constant commitment of the Fondazione Mondo Digitale to consolidate an educational community that can produce new ideas and projects.

The series is witness to how new teaching tools can be developed within the framework of the Life Education model and includes a short series of practical activities that address important issues with simple tools.
