Recognise the dress? It’s di Weijie Yang’s The Mistamate, which was developed for the Fashion Design Course held at the Naples Accademia di Belle Arti by Prof. Mariangela Salvati and developed in collaboration with the FabLab Frosinone.

 

The Mistamate, one of the dresses presented at the Digital Made Contest is now in a Barcelona for the Reshape Exhibition, at the international INDUSTRY from Needs to Solutions Event (Barcelona Fair, October 29-31).

 

The dress was also at the recent Maker Faire (Rome, Oct. 18-20) at the Fondazione Mondo Digitale stand [see news: FMD at the Maker Faire]. A spaced dedicated to intelligent and sustainable fashion to relaunch the second edition of “Digital Made. For Young Fashion Talents,” an international contest promoting young talent in the field of wearable technology at the “Fashion Digital Night” during “Altaroma 2020.”

 

The inspiration for “The Mistmate” comes from the “Phantom at the Opera” movie and photos by Daniel Vazquez for the black and white. The dress was developed with a 3D pen that allowed for the designer to directly draw and develop the item.
