The Fondazione Mondo Digitale participates in Microsoft Edu Day at the Roma Eventi in Piazza di Spagna. The Day is organized in collaboration with the Italian Ministry of Education, University and Research, USR Lazio and the patronage of the Agency for a Digital Italy [see news Microsoft EDU Day]
The Fondazione Mondo Digitale has organized two labs for Microsoft Edu Day - coding and robotics – and a talk by Director General Mirta Michilli.
The Coding Lab, held by Coach Manuela Benedetti, is based on the Kodu Game Lab creative environment, a didactic programme developed by Microsoft that allows users to produce a working videogame. Kodu is based on a user-friendly interface and a simple entirely icon-based language created specifically for the development of games.
The Robotics Lab will propose a simulation of Project Building Wings, a successful experimental educational robotics activity for children with specific learning disorders that has been run at the Istituto Comprensivo Viale dei Consoli. The lab will be coached by Emanuele Limiti.
In her talk, Mirta Michilli will explain how the Phyrtual Innovation Gym is the ideal environment for testing a new educational model, Life Education, and align education to the challenges posed by the 21st century.
