Living in Pyjamas

Becoming a hospital patient implies assuming a new identity, becoming an ill organism, divided into parts, without a “home.” It means following an imposed schedule and living in pyjamas. It’s a place where the aspect of illness is exasperated, making us forget that life exists beyond disease.

The Fondazione Mondo Digitale is hosting a social innovation challenge with Lazio Innova and the Viterbo Health Service (ASL) to promote the new area for welcoming discharged patients at the  Belcolle Hospital.

The objective of the challenge is to design a space where users may sojourn in a safe environment before returning home, a transition area that will allow them to return to their social context. The challenge will be faced through the Lego Serious Play Methodology, that helps to develop critical thinking, communication and the resolution of complex problems through the use of coloured bricks.

Today, the Spazio Attivo di Viterbo will host health sector professionals (doctors, nurses, psychologists, etc.) and students participating in a challenge to co-design the new space through four work tables, coordinated by Ilaria Graziano and Francesca Meini, certified Lego® Serious Play® Method Facilitators. The day will be followed by Carlotta Di Filpo.
