Free activities to strengthen the digital and professional skills of asylum seekers and beneficiaries of international protection are now underway
Activities are resuming under Living in the City with Confidence, the project carried out in partnership with the Federation of Evangelical Churches (lead partner), ActionAid International Italia and the Adecco Foundation for Equal Opportunities, funded by the state-administered ‘otto per mille’ tax allocation.
The initiative is aimed at asylum seekers and beneficiaries of international protection – adults, minors and young adults who have recently come of age – residing in the Municipality of Rome, with the aim of supporting them on pathways to social and labour market inclusion by strengthening their digital and professional skills.
Among the first activities to be launched is ‘Digital Skills for Work’, a free 30-hour course that helps participants use digital tools effectively to look for work, showcase their skills and navigate the labour market with greater confidence. Through practical exercises and workshop-style activities, the course covers topics such as using the main job portals, drafting a CV and cover letter, preparing for online interviews, and understanding the key elements of an employment contract and payslip.
Lessons take place at the Palestra dell’Innovazione (Via del Quadraro 102, Rome), from 3 pm to 6 pm, on 25 and 30 June, and 2, 7, 9, 14, 16, 21, 23 and 28 July.
The project goes beyond training: it also offers career guidance, support in finding job opportunities, assistance with self-employment and help in finding sustainable housing solutions. An integrated programme aimed at promoting personal independence and full participation in community life.
