The new issue of Millionaire includes interviews with three prominent female entrepreneurs and managers on the issue of leadership by women. The three women have written wonderful “letters to my children” that we should read.
One of them is Silvia Candiani, Managing Director of Microsoft Italia since 2017, who guides a team of 850 collaborators and a network of 10,000 partners to bring innovation to Italy. In her interview, Silvia Candiani also speaks about the work being conducted with the Fondazione Mondo Digitale and the collaboration with “Ambizione Italia for Youth” and Coding Girls.
With Ambizione Italia, for example, a very wide-reaching project for education, updating and requalification of digital skills aimed both at students and professional workers, we want to accelerate the digital transformation of the country and promote employment and growth. We have held training session for over 1.3 million Italians in recent months and aim to reach 3 million by 2023. Moreover, we have been collaborating with the Fondazione Mondo Digitale for a number of years on the Coding Girls Programme, which, on the one hand, provides women with digital skills for future STEAM studies and, on the other, provides them with role modelling sessions, putting them in connection with colleagues that face daily challenges for inclusion in professional contexts.
Here is what I recommend to everyone, but especially to young women: be courageous, don’t give up on your passions for fear or stereotypes. Technology is a tool available to everyone through which to express your creativity, create new solutions and find new professional opportunities. We strongly believe in the possibility of inspiring other companies to follow our example and promote diversity. So, full steam ahead! The future is waiting to be created, by you!
