1st Challenge: how to promote “Made in Rome” and “Made in Italy” abroad
"A recent survey by Unindustria, conducted on 225 companies in Lazio with over 38,000 employees overall, reveals that, in 2020, 54% of the enterprises participating in the survey suffered a drop in demand due to the Covid-19 restrictions, amounting to a 10% drop in turnover, with peaks of over 50% for many industrial enterprises. The greatest difficulties were suffered by small and micro-enterprises. In Lazio, however, the economic crisis kicked off by the pandemic was characterised by what we may call the “Rome Effect.” Like in other important cultural cities, the tourism, commerce and restaurant sector suffered significantly. In Rome, tourism fundamentally came to a standstill: -80% in terms of international tourists and -71% for Italian tourists." [Cesare Pozzi and Giuseppe Surdi on Corriere della Sera – Monday, July 12].
How do we kick start after the pandemic? How can we promote “Made in Rome” and “Made in Italy” abroad? The Department of Economic Development and Labour of Roma Capitale is launching its first Civic Challenge as part of the Roma Smart City Plan. Today, Wednesday, July 14, from 11 am to 1 pm, local actors will meet to identify the strategies and tools to integrate the quality of the “Made in Rome” brand with e-commerce models for high quality products and services. [see news: Civic Challenge].
The worktables are open to public and private agencies, enterprises, third sector organisations and all citizens. Everyone is invited to participate in the identification of priorities, needs, innovative ideas and civic participation.
To participate in the work groups, you will need to register and select a group:
- Food Industry and Craftsmanship
- Restaurants and Tourist Services
The Civic Challenges promoted by the Fondazione Mondo Digitale and Facebook Italia are part of Programme Vagone FMD. Da 01 a 100 developed for Binario F.
