After the intensive training sessions held in city schools (IIS Crescenzi – Pacinotti – Sirani, LGS Galvani, LSS Righi, IIS Fermi), 120 students, guided by American super coach Anthonette Peña, National Board Certified Teacher and STEM Teacher Lead, participated in a hackathon at the Alma Mater Studiorum University of Bologna [see news:Coding Girls in Bologna].

 

Here are the winners of the third challenge of the tour entitled "EduHack - What would you change about education?"

Project: The Speaking Project

The perfect programme to prepare for an exam, based on artificial intelligence (machine learning) and Scratch. The idea is based on the fact that students have issues speaking clearly and correctly (especially during oral tests). The app helps them to improve their speech and presentation.

Project: Edu LoHacker

The team developed an app prototype for use at school by students. The app is based on three areas: e-book, quizzes and links. The first part contains all school texts. The quizzes are to be solved together in class, while the third area contains links to videos and documents.

Project: Prolexia Glasses

To solve the problem of dyslexia, the team designed a pair of glasses called "Prolexia" that help users suffering from this issue to read text, rewrite them and correct them thanks to the incorporated earphone and app.

The project is for individuals who are uncertain about the choices they must make (school, work, etc.) to help students understand their strengths and weaknesses and make the best decision for them.
